What this is

A single agent that handles the bookkeeping for a small company end to end. The operator (you) forwards a receipt to a Discord channel and approves the proposed entry. The agent does everything else.

The chain

Each step is a distinct component. The agent's autonomy contract lists which steps run silently and which always pause for you.

What's autonomous, what isn't

The agent runs on its own:

  • Pulls bank transactions from your account every 6 hours (PSD2 via Enable Banking)
  • OCRs every receipt you forward (LlamaParse)
  • Pairs receipts with their matching bank transactions (deterministic scoring + card-debit boost)
  • Reasons over the latest tax rules to decide VAT treatment
  • Writes purchase invoices to e-Financials with the PDF attached
  • Stamps every action with an audit-trail checkpoint

The agent asks you:

  • Before booking a high-value transaction (>€500 default)
  • Before booking the first transaction from a never-seen vendor
  • Before auto-creating a new supplier in your accounting platform
  • When its VAT decision confidence is low

That's the HITL contract. Anything the agent decides above "low confidence" goes through without asking; anything below pauses for a one-click approval.

What it's not

  • Not a replacement for your accountant. The agent writes to your country's official accounting platform (e-Financials in Estonia); your accountant sees clean, traceable books in the system they already use.
  • Not a spreadsheet replacement. The agent doesn't have a spreadsheet. There's no UI to learn beyond Discord.
  • Not "AI bookkeeping" in the buzzword sense. The reasoning layer is explicit: tax rules in a structured table + a knowledge graph; an LLM that retrieves and reasons over them; an audit trail of which rules each decision relied on.
